About iJump

iJump is a learning hub about social media where you can find out the basics of social media, and also learn about people who are using social media in real life!
Whatever department you’re from,
social media offers you the opportunity to improve your organisation. Find out more about what social media is good for .

What this site is for

iJump is about learning. Sometimes that’s through sharing case studies or interviewing people using social media, and sometimes its through getting together as a community and trying new things.

iJump is like the mad scientist’s laboratory. It’s messy, never finished, but it’s the source of innovation for commercial consultancies like #sy.

It’s also going to be – we hope – a source of innovation and ideas for you.

Originating from Auckland, New Zealand, iJump has a New Zealand focus, but it’s an interconnected world, and you’ll be hearing about developments from all around.

Check out our video interviews with New Zealanders using social media, or read (and subscribe to) our blog.

Who this site is for

It’s for you, if you want to lead and not just follow the latest developments in social media.

Actually, iJump is for two groups of people: the really experienced users of social media, and absolute beginners.

Absolute beginners, because, while workshops are available to get you started, sometimes you need to check things out at your own pace. Our social media learning centre is for that.

Experienced users of social media, because we learn when we teach others. The blog is mostly for the experienced users, but over the next few months we’ll be thinking about how these two groups of people can get the most value from iJump.

Who runs iJump?

iJump is run by Simon and Marie Young from #sy social media consultancy. We founded iJump in 2007 to get ourselves and other organisations ready for a future where the rules of communication were different.
